1How long is the free trial?
48 hours. Pick a time when you’re ready to give it a go.
2Do I have to pay when I sign up for the free trial?
No. We want you to try Art Eye Deer without the worry of providing payment details. We're convinced you'll love it, so you can pay when you're ready.
3How much does it cost?
$69AU for 3 months (approximately $5.30 per week), $99AU for 6 months (approximately $3.80 per week), $149AU for 12 months (approximately $2.90 per week). These are Australian dollars, so please take into account the conversion rate for your country.
4What's the difference in the licences?
Nothing! Home, Homeschool and Classroom licences are exactly the same. The reason we ask you to choose a category is so we can personalise communications to you depending on where you might be using Art Eye Deer.
5Can I buy for a voucher for a friend?
Yes! Give a gift of 3 months, 6 months or 1 year full access. You can buy gifts here. If you're not already an Art Eye Deer member, buying a gift will sign you up as a free member. This allows you to keep track of your transactions through the My Account page. If you are already a member, please log in before purchasing a gift.
1Can I login on multiple devices?
Yes. The system allows 3 logins per licence and will automatically keep you logged in unless you intentionally logout. So if you’re using different devices (say, an iPad and then a computer or a laptop), the system will remember these and if you reach 4 logins, it will block you out. This also includes new private/incognito windows, so if you open a new window and login a second time, this also counts. The best thing to do is log out when you're done if you’re using different devices.
2Can my whole class login on their own devices?
Yes. We have special multi-user accounts for this purpose. Please contact us to ask about costs involved with the extra logins.
3I'm locked out! What do I do?
If you have tried to login on more than 3 devices (see above) or if you've entered your password incorrectly too many times, the system will lock you out. You will have to wait 30 minutes before trying to login again.
1How can I get the most out of using Art Eye Deer?
Watch the whole lesson first and then replay if you’d like to follow along step-by-step. Many lessons will require multiple sessions to complete the artwork so be prepared for some of these exercises to be longer term projects.
2What ages are the lessons aimed at?
Secondary/High School, Middle School and Upper Primary School kids. We know lots of grandparents and parents having fun with Art Eye Deer so, technically, Art Eye Deer is for all sorts of ages! But the curriculum links we provide are aimed at 10 to 18 year olds.
3How long are the lessons?
On average, 12-17 minutes each. Short enough to keep your attention, long enough to show you each step and how to achieve what's needed.
4How complicated are the lessons?
Each lesson is rated from 1 (less complex) to 5 (more complex) so students or teachers can pick and choose what they feel is best suited. Sometimes you might feel like doing something simple and quick, other times you might want a challenge.
5Who teaches the lessons?
6What's covered in each lesson?
Each video comes complete with a lesson page. On the lesson page you'll see the artwork image, links to secondary curriculum, details on what the lesson is focusing on, and text for students to think and respond to. In the video, your art teacher jumps right in and shows you how to create the artwork.
7What are the 'pause points' for in the videos?
When learning to create something new, sometimes it's easier to understand if the instructions or processes are broken down into smaller sections. When you see a pause point, it's a great opportunity to stop the video and practice the technique, skill or instruction that you've just seen in the lesson.
8Are there new lessons?
Yep! We’re always working away to bring you the best online art classes in the world. Be sure you’re on the mailing list to be notified of new release artworks. Feel free to request an artwork if you think there's something missing in the Art Eye Deer library.
9Can I download the lessons for offline viewing?
No. To keep Art Eye Deer fresh and up-to-date we want to make sure you have full access to all of the lessons, all of the time. The best way to ensure this is to make sure your internet is sufficient to view the library of lessons.
10What materials do we need?
We believe that any art supplies will do because art is about finding materials and being creative! If you'd like to go into further details, the materials will be listed on each lesson page. The most used items are: paper, pencils, markers, watercolour paint, acrylic paint and paintbrushes. HERE is a comprehensive list for you.
11Can we buy the materials from you?
Not yet. We hope to have an online shop in the near future, but for now you can try your local art shop or stationery shop.
1Can you tell me more about how Art Eye Deer works?
Art Eye Deer is a library of video lessons for young people and adults to learn to enhance their art skills. First you watch the video. Then the second time 'round you use the pause points and follow along step-by-step or simply use the lesson as inspiration.
2What makes Art Eye Deer so special?
We’re the only online art school in Australia, you can learn in your own time, be in your own space and be without the pressures of people watching over your shoulder. Our art teachers don't fluff around, they get straight to the point. Each lesson is thoroughly planned and asks you to respond in your own time to enhance your learning experience. Art Eye Deer provides the building blocks for students to become truly independent with their art.
3Does copying an artwork take away the creativity?
Nope! It does the opposite. Copying an artwork increases your creativity because you're building your skills, knowledge and confidence. Just like an apprentice carpenter will copy his/her instructor to learn the skills, Art Eye Deer teaches you skills in art so you can create more art than ever before.
